The Charles & Chase Group completed a 10,000 square foot renovation in August, 2006, for the First Step of Sarasota, Inc. First Step is an accredited, licensed comprehensive, not-for-profit alcohol and drug rehabilitation center.

First Step awarded The Charles & Chase Group with a Design-Build contract partnering with WBRC Architects to expand their detoxification unit from a 15-bed, non-secure unit to a 30-bed, locked unit, which has been licensed as a secure adult addictions receiving facility. The project consisted of an occupied multiple phase renovation including observation rooms, seclusion room, nurse's station, group rooms, administration area, and outdoor group area.
