The Charles & Chase Group provided construction consultation and bid document review for two educational research facilities at the Covington, LA, campus.

The Regional Biocontainment Laboratory is 38,000 sq. ft. and is designed to house non-human primate and small animals. The interior space includes holding areas, surgical and necropsy suites, procedure rooms, BSL-3 laboratory space, and office spaces.

Consultation was provided for the 22,800 sq. ft. Building C and Cage Wash renovation and additions.

Charles & Chase reviewed bid documents to identify errors and omissions, interdisciplinary coordination and constructability issues with the design documents. Additionally, they will provide the phase 1 engineering peer review of the documents to insure that the engineered system design in the documents will meet the original design objectives.
